PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is a melanocortin receptor agonist peptide. It was originally developed from Melanotan II and is primarily researched for sexual dysfunction.
500-2000 mcg administered subcutaneously, typically 30-60 minutes before desired effect. Not for daily use — typically used on an as-needed basis with at least 24 hours between doses.
Used on demand rather than in traditional cycles. Should not exceed 8 doses per month.
Common side effects include nausea (often dose-dependent), flushing, headache, and transient increases in blood pressure. Those with uncontrolled high blood pressure or cardiovascular disease should avoid. May cause skin darkening with repeated use. PT-141 (as Vyleesi) is FDA-approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women.
